· Card Factory and kitchen retailer sign new leases amid ongoing roadworks
Curchod & Co has completed the lettings of two prime retail units in central Farnham, underlining continued occupier demand in the town despite major traffic disruption caused by prolonged roadworks.
Card Factory has taken a new ten-year lease at 4 The Borough, a 1,024 sq ft unit, at a rent of £40,500 per annum. The property, which fronts Farnham’s main retail thoroughfare, was recently comprehensively refurbished by the landlord.
At nearby 3 Town Hall Buildings, kitchen retailer TSW Wholesale Ltd has agreed a 15-year lease at £47,500 per annum. The 1,269 sq ft unit spans ground and basement levels in a Grade II listed building. The letting follows the earlier deals on Units 4 and 5, meaning the Town Hall development is now fully let again.
Matthew Munday, from Curchod & Co in Farnham, said: “These deals show that demand for well-located, quality retail space remains strong, even in the face of significant short-term disruption. Farnham has faced months of road closures, yet we’ve seen a very positive response from occupiers who recognise the long-term potential of the town.”
Both units benefit from prominent positions in The Borough, close to national retailers including Boots, Poundland, WHSmith and JoJo Maman Bébé. Farnham continues to attract affluent shoppers and ranks among the top ten places to live in the South East, according to the Sunday Times.
