Greggs secures prime unit at Chineham Shopping Centre in Basingstoke

  • Greggs bakes up expansion with a new ten-year lease

Supermarket Income REIT, advised by Curchod & Co and Morgan Williams, has let 1,642 sq ft retail unit at 12 Chineham Shopping Centre, Basingstoke, Hampshire to Greggs, one of the UK’s leading bakery chains.

The move sees Greggs relocating to a larger unit within the centre, enabling the brand to enhance its food offering to customers. The prominent corner unit, located at the entrance to Chineham Shopping Centre, offers excellent visibility and high footfall. The new lease spans ten years at an annual rent that remains undisclosed.

Commenting on the deal, Tom Clancy, of Curchod & Co, said: “We are pleased to have facilitated Greggs’ relocation to a more spacious unit within Chineham Shopping Centre. This move allows them to better serve their growing customer base with an expanded food range.

“The transaction underlines the popularity of Chineham Shopping Centre with retailers and shoppers alike,” he added.

Greggs was represented in the transaction by Stephen Kane & Co.

Chineham Shopping Centre is a well-connected neighbourhood retail destination in Basingstoke, with ample parking and a variety of retail and leisure offerings catering to the local community.
