The Curchod & Co Xi are delighted to once again be taking to the field for our annual cricket season, continuing a long-standing tradition that brings together colleagues, clients and friends for an enjoyable series of summer fixtures.
This year’s schedule features six matches against a strong line-up of local business teams. Unfortunately, the British weather had other ideas early in the season, with two fixtures lost to rain. A further match was called off as cricket fans turned their attention to England’s World Cup campaign.
Despite these setbacks, the season is now firmly underway. Last night’s fixture against Bourne Hub provided a tough test for the Curchod & Co side. While the result didn’t fall in our favour, it was a spirited performance, and the team did themselves proud against quality opposition.
Looking ahead, the challenges continue with a highly anticipated match against the might of Hurst Warne. Further fixtures against Moore Barlow, Blue Jelly and Oktra remain to come, ensuring an exciting second half to the season.
We are proud to play and sponsor Farnham Cricket Club, a truly picturesque ground situated alongside the historic Farnham Castle. Few settings can rival it as a venue for summer evening cricket, and it provides the perfect backdrop for both competitive play and post-match socialising.
Our cricket evenings are as much about camaraderie as they are about the game itself, and a great opportunity to unwind, enjoy some fresh air, and, of course, a few well-earned cold beers after the final ball has been bowled.
