Curchod & Co has appointed Richard Newsam as managing partner, with effect from 31 March 2026.
Richard succeeds David Bowen, who will step down from the managing partner role at the end of the financial year as part of a planned leadership transition.
Richard has been at Curchod & Co for 17 years, and has played a central role in the firm’s development, working closely with clients across the Woking, Guildford and southern M25 markets, helping to shape the business’s technical and commercial direction. His appointment reflects the firm’s focus on continuity, client relationships and long-term leadership.
Commenting on his appointment, Richard said: “Taking on the managing partner role is a responsibility I approach with a great deal of respect for the business and the people within it. Curchod & Co has been built on strong client relationships and technical credibility, and my focus will be on maintaining that consistency while continuing to support the team as the business develops. I would also like to thank David for his leadership and the platform he has helped create.”
David will remain actively involved in the business following the transition, continuing his work in the M3 corridor market and maintaining relationships with clients he has advised over many years. His ongoing role ensures continuity for clients while allowing him to focus on the areas where he brings particular experience and value.
David added, “This has been a planned and positive step for the business. Richard is well placed to lead Curchod & Co, and I am pleased to continue working with clients and colleagues in a way that plays to my strengths while supporting the firm’s next phase.”
