Construction underway at Brightwells, Farnham

Construction underway at Brightwells, Farnham

The long awaited redevelopment of the Former Redgrave Theatre site in the heart of Farnham is finally underway.  Demolition of the site began in March and the construction phase has now commenced which will see 239 new homes and 9,814 sq m (105,673 sq ft) of commercial space including retail, a cinema, restaurants, cafes as well as a Town Square and public gardens and a multi-storey car park.

Big name occupiers already signed up to come to Brightwell’s include Reel Cinemas, Marks & Spencer Simply Food and Seasalt.

With new car parks and a central location, Brightwells Yard will be easily accessible for anyone wanting to visit Farnham to work, study, eat, drink, shop or play.

Brightwells Yard is being developed by Crest Nicholson in partnership with Waverley Borough Council and Surrey County Council.

The development has a phased opening from Spring 2021 and will be fully complete by Autumn 2022.

The team at Curchod & Co’s Farnham office are excited to see the development finally underway. ‘Brightwells is the first major town centre development in many years and we sincerely hope that the scheme proves successful and attracts even greater footfall to Farnham which remains a very popular retail and leisure destination despite the difficulties in the retail sector.

For more information about the retail property market in Farnham please contact Matthew Seary or Nick Reeve at Curchod & Co’s Farnham office which is located in Borelli Yard.

Surrey & Hampshire property specialists

Any time we start something new it is exciting and we are very motivated and committed. As time goes by, however, the burst of enthusiasm can wane as the reality of how much work is going to be involved kicks in. When you find yourself slacking a little and not being as enthused about the new change or goal you are working towards, that isn’t a sign to quit. It is a sign that it is time to re-commit.
