Freehold sale of 35,321 sq ft of industrial accommodation in Alton, Hampshire

A private owner, advised by Curchod & Co, has sold the freehold of Units 1-2 Newman Lane, in Alton, two industrial units totalling 35,321 sq ft, to a growing self-storage business.

Having purchased the property in conjunction with Paloma Capital, Wigwam Storage Management will convert it into a state-of-the-art facility, that will offer self-storage solutions for personal use, business and document storage, or even container storage.

Nick Reeve of Curchod & Co in Farnham said: “This sale confirms that, despite a challenging funding environment, Alton remains a strong industrial and warehouse market that is popular with occupiers and investors.

“The transaction follows the recent sale of the GMS investment portfolio of industrial estates, which included Grove Park Industrial Estate in Alton,” he added.

The two interlinked units feature an additional mezzanine storage area on the first floor as well as office space, secure parking, two loading doors and a secure fenced forecourt.
