Camberley’s buoyant economy has attracted many blue chip organisations such as Siemens over the years and, with much of its residents being highly skilled, unemployment continues to remain below the national average.
Moreover, whilst manufacturing still continues to support the town’s local economy, office-based work is growing in importance. The financial sector, in particular, is attracting a large proportion of workers. The diversity of Camberley’s economy has resulted in a wide variety of networking organisations being set up both by local residents and also by nearby companies in the surrounding boroughs.
In addition to the wide range of networking groups that are on offer, Camberley Borough Council also caters for the needs of local businesses on its website www.surreyheath.gov.uk/business
This website has a full section dedicated to start-up businesses, and if you are an entrepreneur, then Surrey Chamber of Commerce also offers the following start up business advice services to help you on the road to success:
These services are bespoke, tailored to each individual and complimentary thanks to Surrey Heath Borough Council, Project Five and Surrey Chamber of Commerce. If you would like to book a 90 minute session to discuss your business and the plans you require then you may contact the team on www.surrey-chambers.co.uk
The borough of Surrey Heath is served well in relation to networking opportunities and groups for local businesses with a select few even striving to promote and enhance local trading areas throughout Camberley. Below is just a small list of some of the networking associations that are available to you should you decide to relocate to the town.
Known as Camberley’s number one network for cultivation, BNI Camberley provides quality referrals, revenue generation, support and advice, plus access to a wide range of potential clients.
Should you wish to join, the group holds a 6:45am breakfast meeting every Thursday at Camberley Golf Club with free parking available on site and just a £15 fee for the breakfast. The meeting provides the opportunity for you to hand out business cards, promote your business and be shown around by a visitor host. Following your visit, the committee will then review your application before deciding if you both make a good fit.
This local independent networking organisation meets on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday of each month for breakfast between 7:30am and 9:00am at various locations throughout Camberley. Following a one off fee, membership is £10 a month and includes breakfast.
This website covers everything from business rates, licensing and permits, waste and recycling for your business and much more. To find out more visit www.surreyheath.gov.uk
